Individual Championship Finals

A big thank you to Danbury Lawn Tennis Club for hosting the finals this year with special thanks to all the club volunteers who kept us going with hot drinks and food on a damp and overcast Sunday.

The performance of the day had to be Sarah Naylor who won all four of her finals: under 15 singles, under 18 singles, under 18 doubles with Francesca Chen, and under 18 mixed doubles with Matthew Pearce.

One is never enough and Matthew Pearce and Annabel Simpson both won two titles each.

The longest match of the day was the U10 girls, which lasted for a two hour marathon.

Finally a special thank you to Rob Jenkins and Daniel Schofield who stepped in at the last minute to help with the umpiring.

Thank you to Billericay Lawn Tennis Club for hosting the finals of the Plate Event this year on a dry and sunny mid October Sunday.

The Boys U18 match might have been the longest of the day, but the girls U18 match was of the highest quality.  The girls U13 final had the biggest crowd watching - the spectators had to be silenced by the referee at one stage.

Billericay won five titles (4 and 1/2 actually; B Elliot belongs to both Cranston Park and Billericay clubs).

Cranston Park won two titles (1 and 1/2).
